My WHY (Mission Statement) for Why We Connect:
to explore and find out how to build relationships and discover meaning/value in an ever increasingly technological and busy world
Are we making substantial connections as we become a more “connected” society? Part blog, part podcast (oh, it’s coming) – all in hope to learn something about why, and how we should, connect with each other and our communities.
“When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.” – John Muir
I’ve always found human interaction and communication fascinating. Through my careers in the service industry, in media or the communications sector, my interest has continued to grow…especially with the ever increasing reliance on technology as a way of furthering our reach in making connections. Through the last few years, I’ve been trying to pick away at analyzing engagement (I’m no PhD), from The Upsell and watching how businesses interact with their customers, to Getting Engaged, a look at communication best practices. Now, I’m hoping to really focus on how to use various mediums to connect and why it’s important. Whether through social media, new gadgets, our communities, our homes, our work environments or the various other ways and places we interact and connect, I hope you’ll stick around and discover with me a bit more on why we connect.
